I think they might be one of my most hated bands that I've ever heard. I know on this board there is usually a weekly "awful, stereotypical country lyrics" thread and they're probably a staple. I heard the opening line of their newest (I guess it's new?) song and had to cringe it was so got damn bad.

The mixtape's got a little Hank, little Drake
A little something bumping, thump, thumping on the wheel ride
The mix in our drink's a little stronger than you think
So get a grip, take a sip of that feel right
The truck's jacked up, flat bills flipped back
Yeah you can find us where the party's at

I mean honestly, how can anyone say with a straight face that this is country music?

I guess "country" people like their music, hence why they consider them country. It's like that for a lot of "country" artists. That's my only answer to that. People are stupid these days.

They are simply a marketing ploy to appeal to the lowest common denominator of "country" fans... simple as..

They appeal to "country" fans like myself who can't stand actual country music. (Admittedly so). The Garth Brooks, Merl Haggert type shite that you older folks came up on for instance. Garth Brooks is the sole reason I hated country until I was about 24. "And the thunder roles...", absolutely horse shite and a terrible song from my youth. Pretty much the lone song that always made me hate country...And yet it's one of the "legendary" country songs. Country has evolved to more of a rock and rap sound than actual country. Probably why I actually like it these days. Your old country music is dead man, much like rock and roll died. Welcome to the new school man, where mfer's wear flat bills backwards.

Neither rock nor country are dead. They're maybe even better than they've ever been. Its just not on regular radio.

I would bet a large amount of money he has no Hank on his mixtape

And that those listening to this music don't either.
