The FCC and competitors have already vowed to fight the deal though. Will be held up in litigation for months at least so therefore it's almost certain DirecTV won't get SEC network at launch.

If they're smart, they won't frick with directv's set up. Maybe they'll integrate some of dtv's business divisions into u-verse.

Don't know if your keeeding, but Out side of being a tad expensive I have excellent service on Uverse and cell from ATT.

It's going to take at least a year to close the deal. The DoJ is going to be all over this. There are significant competition issues here. Especially since some people are saying AT&T will shut down UVerse TV and push TV to satelite, which frees up room on the in-ground pipe for UVerse Internet.
There is no reason to believe that SECN has a deal with UVerse will cause DTV to sign on this year. If anything, I can see it delaying a SECN deal, as neither DTV nor SECN may want to ink a deal with so much uncertainty going on around it.

This may be a positive step toward DirecTV getting the SEC Network sooner but, I'd be reluctant to trust AT&T - they wrote the book on "bill creep".

I've had no issues with AT&T or DTV, but I'm OT loaded!
