Cox, Eatel, DirectTV currently do not have a deal in place to carry SEC Network:

To make a request/demand go to this site:LINK /

or if you don't mind staying on hold the digits apropos:

Cox: 225-615-1000
Eatel:800-621-4211
DirecTV:800-347-3288

So if you guys want to do something about it call or go to the website; by the way it is not like the ACA Tax website, the site I linked to only takes a couple of minutes to find the info you need and make your request.

The good news for those who want the SEC Network: AT&T U verse and Dish have worked out an agreement and will carry the SEC Network.

I've noticed that some people are perhaps balancing the exposure these providers would present, versus the local flavor that, for example CST announcers provide.
Obviously, it would be nice to have more LA talent involved.
Espn anointed Paul Finebaum SEC expert several years ago.
I've never been happy about that, nor having the SEC Network physical location not in an actual SEC State either, it's domiciled in North Carolina at an ESPN facility. Mind you this is a collaborative effort with them.
But my opinion is the SEC Network is long overdue; this is a national network, whether it's form is to my liking that's another matter.
I kind of missed seeing Timmy though.

For what it's worth, spoke to a Direct TV rep the other day and said that it was almost a done deal

Yeah DTV is only a matter of time before it's officially announced.

Isn't direct tv being acquired by att? That sort of fixes that problem doesn't it?

Does anyone actually see any major provider not working out a contract? Seems they would lose a good percentage of business if not.

If you think that the most popular cable providers in Baton Rouge, Birmingham, Mobile, Nashville, etc. won't be picking up the SEC network then you are stupid.

This. These providers realize they will lose customers if they don't get the network.

You can go to the SEC Network site and select Charter as your provider. I assume the conference is taking the number of demands to the negotiations with each provider.

I'm going to be pissed if Charter doesn't get the deal done with the SEC while they've managed to add the Big Ten and Longhorn Networks.

I just called, the guy I talked to was an Arkansas fan. He said they're working on it, but didn't have anything concrete yet.

The best thing to do us actually call your provider. Filling out that stupid on line survey and getting a form letter back from your favorite coach probably is not as effective as a phone call. I've done it twice and it gets their attention.
I've also been told that Cox monitors sites like TD to gauge opinions.
You listening Cox Communications ?

Every cable provider in every SEC state will have the SEC network by Sept. This network is a very different animal (mainly due to football inventory...3games every Saturday, combined with the demand for SEC football) than the LHN or the Big10nw or the Pac12 network.

All that said, it still doesn't hurt for everyone to call their provider and make damn sure they know you'll be switching to ATT or Dish if they don't get a deal done by August.

To bad the SEC doesn't follow ESPN lead and move the sec offices there too.
