Sitting in a bar looking at highlights. Could be a nice signing, eh?

sort of reminds me of Jonathon Baldwin the WR out of Pitt a few years ago.

he's a little faster for a big WR.

If he pans out it would be ridiculous. There has to be some pretty good reasons he went as an UDFA though. What's not on that highlight video that resulted in no one drafting him?

Hands, not being able to gain separation?

Seantavious Jones could turn out to be a better pro. Who knows?

Looks like he gains separation in his videos

He flies for his height and weight. He had a 3rd round grade from the NFL advisory board last year.

He tore his meniscus last spring, but I still can't believe he wasn't drafted

meniscus can be tricky. could become chronic and he'll have to play through pain/his shelf life may not be too long.

Well, they aren't showing his "lowlights"

Hope he works out, though. He should see extensive time in the preseason to prove himself

From a Rutgers fan I know.

quote:

In all honesty, I guess his knee is worse than we originally thought. It caused a huge dropoff this season because he KILLED it his sophomore season. Again, I was STUNNED he didn't get drafted, he's an incredible kid, hard worker, 6'6 and runs like a 4.6. Freak of nature. I think concerns about his knee impacting his movement and separation are real.

On the field (other than his knee) he never attacked the ball like you would've liked at this highest point, but he was never really coached up. Honestly, I'm thrilled he's with the Saints because if anyone can help him tap his full potential, it's Sean and Brees. I think he can honestly become like another Colston for you guys if his knee is really there. I love the kid, one of my all time favorite rutgers prospects. Seriously.

Yeah he's physically similar to Baldwin build wise. But Baldwin had no separation or RAC in his game.

I played a Coleman highlight reel for my dad and his first words were "He looks like a giant Colston".

Whether or not he beats out Toon outright for a spot or simply lights a fire under Toon arse, I think our camp roster is better with Coleman in the competition.

He did a "interview" with a blogger from Canal St Chronicles a little while ago over Google Hangouts and it was pretty cool. Guy is very down-to-earth and really just relishes the challenge of earning a roster spot.

I think he is a bubble guy on the roster and will challenge Toon for the 6th spot but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he easily makes the roster. I also wouldn't be surprised to see us get rid of Meachem or Morgan, or to even keep 7 WRs on the roster, just because of this guy.

At the same time, I'm trying not to become enamored with him to avoid the Chase Thomas effect here.. Pretty similar situation IMO.

Bottom line, if he has any potential they will find a way to stick him on the roster. He is too highly coveted to be a PS squad guy IMO.
