plan failed for hundreds of miles of tunnels under ice in Greenland to position mobile nukes and launch them-pretty damn interesting
i encourage speculation on where on planet earth besides the northern great plains and on subs we have nukes hidden today.

N. Korea. Rodman flipped them to our side.

I was in the Air Force and could shed a LOT of light on this subject.

Nuclear Winnebago RVs. Regan era project where the Government buys several thousand Winnebago RVs, equips each with an ICBM and puts them on the interstate highways with old geezers at the wheel. No one knows where the fleet is at any moment. Pretty good idea until they figured out the RVs had the launch buttons on the dash, within easy reach of the crazed hothead Alzheimer's infected retires.
Project scrapped. Sadly, one or two units were never recovered and continue their secret patrol probably somewhere on I75 between Detroit and Disney World.

Those are the ones we know about...I think you would be surprised at all the locations we do have...Ive heard the central US...like Kansas has a ton, if you consider that northern...probably a bunxh in New Mexico, Nevada, amd Eastern California as well if I had to guess.

Isn't there some stored at Barksdale Air base underground, where they took G. W on 9/11?

most of those are nuclear bombs. they are in mounds at the back of the runway, easy to load on B52s in a hurry if needed

Norther Arkansas had them in the cold war. Don't know if they're still active.

A lot of it was moved especially after Minot lost a few nukes. My brother ran a few runs from there with blank inventories and instructions to not stop for any reason. He never knew for sure. They had another guy in their company get pulled over on one of these runs. Somebody high up got on the phone with the cop that pulled him over and he was told to get back on the road immediately.

Guam? Any other remote islands we own.

Barksdale has nuclear cruise missiles, not the "bombs" you see in movies. I don't believe there are any nuclear dumb bombs anymore. Minot didn't "lose" any nukes per se. They did accidentally fly live ones down to Barksdale when they were supposed to be flying dummies. Bunch of folks got fired but, as far as I know, that didn't lead to downsizing the inventory at Barksdale. I know a bunch of pilots and this type of stuff gets talked about over beers.

Sadly, there are several gullible fools here who will believe that there really are a handful of long lost intercontinental ballistic missiles rolling on the highways right now.

The one about a mile and a half from my house was removed somewhere in the mid 80s. Silo had to keep the lid open so the Soviet satellites could see into it. About three years or so after the removal the silo was imploded.
