Can we just assume under Les Miles that we are gonna be good?

I mean at least 10 wins, a good bowl game, a top 10 recruiting class etc.

I just look at his resume and assume this right. I don't see the Mack Brown/Will Muschamp season happening. Are we spoiled under Les? Thoughts

Everyone fails in the end - Caesar, Napoleon, Hitler, Bear Bryant - everyone!

2008 -- 8-5 Chik Fila bowl
2009 -- 9-4 Capital One bowl

To answer your question, no.

I know I just think we have become so accustomed to winning under Les that thought of a losing season is the last thing on tigerfans minds. I remember pre-Les/Saban it wasn't like this. The younger generation wouldn't understand what I am talking about.

With Cameron and Chief, along with outstanding assistants, I'm pretty optimistic that the next few years will be his best. We'll see.

We wont have a losing season I believe but we've already had an 8 win and 9 win season...which isn't much to complain about if you were a fan of our 90's teams

That is my point. Les for as much shite as he catches from fans ( me being one of them) he has created a culture of winning.

Interesting.

IMHO there are 5 'sure' wins on next years schedule. That would mean that LSU needs to win 5 of the 8 following games:

Wisconsin
@ Auburn
@ Florida
Ole Miss
Alabama
@ Arkansas
@ Texas A&M
Bowl Game

It's plausible that the current team will not be a 10-11 win team that is assumed under Les.

I like Les, sometimes I want to injure him, however it's a strong statement to assume 10-11 wins a year. Having sat in a Curly Hallman stadium I cannot bring myself to that assumption.

Assuming we can't win at least half of the actual decent games we have next year? I'd say its more plausible that we do than we don't.

Why is it all of the sudden assumed that we will lose all the marquee games next season

Point of note, "half of the actual decent games we have next year" would net 9 wins. Thus the reason I say assume is a tough concept. Face it this is the SEC. LSU is in the upper echelon certainly but for any team a 10-11 win assumption is too much IMO unless you have Bama's annual schedule.

No reason the Tigers can't bear Wisconsin, Arky and aTm. I think the Aggies take a step backward.

Lack of experiences would probably play into this. I currently see us losing to AU & UA.

Bingo!

Luckily the tough part of the schedule is later in the year so the young guys have time to grow up.

LSU is in a weird cycle. Lost much of the defense 2 years ago. Replace the D but lose much of the Offense this past year. The Tigers recruit well but need to break that cycle of scaled attrition on one side of the ball each year.

I am expecting about 9 wins this season. I believe 2015 and 2016 will bring 10+ wins both years. That's regular season predictions.

I have been a fan since 1960 when I was 9 years old. LSU has historically won 70% (in the vicinity of) of its games. If we play 13 games, that would be 9.1 wins. If we are 8-5 I think we did not have a good year even though we had a winning season. 9-4 is average. 10-3 and more is good.

Given the QB uncertainty this coming season, it very easily could be an 8-5 season again. Miles isn't immune to bad seasons and people forget that Cam basically came into the same position Crowtom did in 2007 with a 5th year QB and then flopped in developing a new one.

Chances are great that Les makes a decent bowl game but LSU lost a ton last year.

I'd say he maintained it more than created it. He created it at OSU though, for which deserves a ton of credit.

Wrong. One of those did not live long enough to fail.

Do NOT compare Cam to Crowton. To think we will have the same results this season with Cam as we had with Crowton after 2007 is not realistic. Cam knows what he's doing.
