And you know this how? Do you know what my electric bill is? Do you know how many panels I'm getting?

Possibly the grid if he has net metering (meters that spin backwards) and depending on the utility.

Some utilities won't allow backfeeding so the system has to be designed to carry base load only and no more unless the house is completely isolated from the grid, which isn't usually a great idea. As long as it doesn't provide more than the house is using, no big deal and no need for batteries either.

You just send it to the grid for a credit. The only "scam" part of this is most energy providers only give full credit to a certain amount like 500kwh per month. After that it's half price.

I'd love to see all the information they used to come up with that $100 claim. When I have done solar installations, I have seen nothing close to that but maybe your rates are ridiculously high.

I'm getting a 6.75 kW system if that makes a difference

I'm wondering how many of these solar panel companies fall by the wayside once all of the sweet federal and state credits cease

Have you gotten with your electric company to get the meter you need? I know some people had to wait for 5 months for Entergy to switch it out. Also, is there a monthly fee you are paying?

Yep. They just need to start requiring all housing to be built with solar panels when the technology is there. Maybe it is now but the technology is still advancing at an increasing rate. We also need to say frick the electric companies and let us put into the grid. fricking lobbyists.

Awesome. Set up the same size system for my parents. I don't remember if they needed a rider or not with State Farm. But in the last hail storm, the roof itself had damage but the panels were unscathed. Insurance covered the labor to remove and reinstall the panels and repair the roof.

Depending on what size system you have, and your usage, saving $100+ is not unreasonable. They're scheduled to pay off the entire unit in just under 5 years as well.
