When mentioning earlier the chatter about the Buccaneers moving up to No. 2 via trade with the Rams, the specific reason for the five-spot climb wasn’t clear.

As we currently understand it, the Buccaneers would be making the move not for Watkins, but for Manziel.

please let this happen. The division will be us and Fulckins for a long time

Why not? You really think he will be any good? I can see him making a crazy play or two a game, but he will be extremely inconsistent when he is actually not hurt. Dude will get crushed in this league

They should just call this "Johnny Football 2014" instead of the 2014 NFL Draft.

He's the biggest wildcard in this draft.

I think he is dangerous as hell and would prefer he go to the raiders browns of jags.

Would seem to be a strange fit in tampa.

I agree... I wouldn't want to face him twice a year, honestly.

Everyone has a different opinion on him, but no one truly knows whether he'll be a bust or not until he's actually in the league.

If he is going to be a good NFL QB, I'd rather not learn the hard way.

I think he is going to be good. It could be a gut feeling, it could be because I really think he's going to excel. I don't want him in Tampa. Having to play Newton and Manziel twice a year, no thanks. Mobile quarterbacks give the team some problems at times.

JFF just doesn't scare me, for a few reasons.

1. His style of play is going to be rough to translate to the NFL. He has this "back yard" style where he runs around and chucks up prayers that seemed to always get answered in college. Plenty of luck to go with his game, although he has a ton of skill.

2. If he goes to the Jags, he's screwed. Tampa would give him a better chance due to them actually having weapons to play with. But his scrambling ability is going to end up in him limping off the field. Unlike Cam Newton, he doesn't have the size to take the hits.

3. I think back to how LSU made him look absolutely inept every time they played him. Even LSU's shitty D last year stifled him. An NFL D won't allow the JFF magic.

All that said, teams seem to be going nuts for him so they certainly know better.

I think he needs a particular system and coach to really utilize his talents. I would be absolutely terrified of him on the Eagles running Chip Kelly's offense.

However, I still think he has enough talent to be dangerous anywhere. He is so quick and agile, it really is incredible to watch. He also has a pretty damn good arm as well. His play making ability will be useful to any team.

Agreed, Im a Manziel denier. I think his career in the NFL will look like his two games against the Fighting Tigers.
NFL teams will beg him to assert his athleticism and try and beat edge guys whove got 60+ lbs on him to the corner.

I'd hate to have him in the division on the chance that he blows up, even if that's a 50/50 chance or a 25/75 chance. QBs have a much bigger impact on games than any other position and if they get even a good one they can be dangerous.

On the flip side I would like that they would have to give up a pretty penny to do so, but if there's one position that's worth it(if he pans out) it's QB.

If the Bucs get Johnny at 2 I will be livid... We have 1 WR now that Mike Williams was traded. Apparently we are shopping around Glennon for a 2nd round pick but I would rather just keep our spot and get Evans from A&M. McCown is a proven NFL starter. I can understand trading up for Watkins due to Vincent Jackson being a big slower WR but thats the only reason I think we should trade up.

McCown a "proven" starter? Jackson a "slow" receiver? I just don't know what to say.
