Buy an Audubon yearly pass...You'll pay as much for the year pass as you will one day at both

Park in Canal Place for aquarium. Weekends of course are way crowded. It's much better with Vicodin.

They have a group ticket buy for the zoo, aquarium, insectarium, and one other place.

Aquarium and insectarium are right by each other. Can park in canal place if you want. Insectarium is really cool if you like bugs and creepy crawly stuff.

One of my favorite exhibits at the Acquarium was the parakeet aviary. I don't know if they still have it going, but they let you walk in and the birds fly all around and if you have some seeds or something (you can buy a stick of seeds there for like $1), the birds will land on you and it really was cool for my little one to see.

The zoo is the zoo, kids will eat that up.

A family pass is $150 (ish) I think each attraction is $15 a person.

Depends on the size of your family.
The Aquarium is small, compared to most and you will go through it pretty quickly.
As far as parking, there is a garage and a lot right by it, you enter both at the end of Canal.
The Zoo has it's own large free lot, so parking is easy.
There is no real set plan. If it's really sunny I go to the left and get the reptiles and ses lions and primates out the way, then go to the African exhibits and swamp.
The rides are a waste and the splash park is okay for little kids but it gets crowded, I also don't like how adults have to pay so much to get in there when they wont use the splash park stuff.

(with the annual pass it's $3 a person/ $10 without)

The zoo is pretty cool and it's nicely laid out. It's a nice way to spend a day. I like to go by the Milk Bar and get sandwiches and picknick at the riverfront park behind the zoo (called "the fly)

The aquarium is closer to $30 for adults. The pass is definitely worth it. If you take your family to the aquarium and the zoo twice, it's already paid for itself.

went to zoo yesterday.

Get there early, take advantage of the cooler mornings. Bring sunscreen, sneak in lots of bottled water in a diaper bag. They don't check shite. Bring a wagon or something you can tote kids around if they are young.

elephant thing is closed now. Tell the chimpanzee we said hi, that guy is funny

$22 so I guess we split the difference. I didn't know it was that much, I have a pass.

Yep, if you plan on going more than once in a year, then this will pay off.

Also, if you get the pass, then go back in the fall on the day of a Saints game - the zoo/aquarium will be empty.

Yeah it was there when I went a couple weeks ago. It was really neat, and I only got pooped on 3 times.

The aquarium is cool... But be prepared to be annoyed by the massive amounts of people and children running around. It's indoors which means there is never enough room.

The zoo atleast allows you to spread out.
