Who thinks our coach did a good job in the 9th and 10th?

It is a debate when to pull Nola but once you see how Broussard was handling the pressure, why do you start him again in the 10th? Then put fuel on the fire by bringing in Person who has not been thowing well lately? McCune should have started the 10th. Thoughts......coach is very lucky to get the 'W'. Players deserve the win as they overcame coaching errors!!!

I don't have a problem with Broussard starting the tenth. Fresh start, nobody on base, and he's far and away our best reliever.

Person has been too shaky as of late to be put in when he was.

Only mistake was pitching broussard in the 10th, everything else is 20/20

The only call I have a problem with is throwing Person in that situation. As you said he has been struggling lately.

Is anybody giving PM credit for plugging in Foster in left field after he pulled Fraley?

Mccune absolutely stunk it up last week(2 blown games). Maybe you put him in to start the 9th, but he has no movement on his fast ball. Maneri, and LSU was very lucky tonight, and McCune was what was needed, as others couldn't find that Umps ever narrowing zone. Maneri relied on the Defense to get the win. Huge win!!!

No credit as I can't get over the pitching debacle. But since you pointed it out, yes, very good move. I know, get over it and take the W.

I just can't understand the pitching moves he makes. Thankfully the last batter was swinging because the tying run would have walked in

And the OP:

Person's last game was against Tennessee last Saturday. He pitched 1 inning. Allowed 1 hit. No walks. No runs.

McCune's last game was also Tennessee last Saturday. 1 IP, 2 hits, 2 runs (1 earned).
The game before that: 0.1 IP, 2 hits, 2 ERs.

McCune as been very solid all year but not recently. It wasn't a crazy move by Mainieri to go with Person over him at that point in the game.

Nope, CPM got desperate. His two best pitchers decided that they couldn't find the plate.

Person hasn't looked very good all year. Even if he had an inning without a run.

Person has a 3.32 ERA this year in 22 innings.
McCune has a 3.33 ERA this year in 27 innings.

Not saying Person is awesome or anything but is play this year is getting a horrible rap by people with terrible memories.

very few of our relief pitchers are very good for more then one inning. usually Broussard can give you 2 or 3 if necessary, but batters have been getting to him lately. not his problem tonight, he just couldn't buy a strike. i didn't see the game but i understand the umpire lost his eyesight late in the game.

Foster makes a game saving, highlight reel play.

Seems like the coaching call of the game!

this stat is very misleading if you look at only ERA and total innings. divide his appearances by total innings will tell the reason they both don't have huge ERAs. none of them can be considered a set up guy. very few of them pitch for more then 3 or 4 outs each time out, and many times not even that long.
