How does going to church make you feel?

I like it and feel good about going.

I even put money in the basket

I go because I want to go.


I always leave church happier than when I walked in.

It depends on my mood and what the 3 readings are for that day. As we go through the liturgical cycle, we run through the gamut of emotions and lessons--sometimes to remind us not to be too hard on ourselves ("my yoke is light"), and other times to get our asses in gear. Sometimes to concentrate on how our actions impact others, and sometimes to concentrate more on changing ourselves.

But however I feel going in, I usually feel better knowing that I received the sacrament, which is the primary reason why I go in the first place. And I have faith that the sacrament will work within me with grace, no matter how I happen to feel or not feel about it that day or week. Progress is not always apparent to how we feel.

I mean, shite, most of the masses I went to last year were in German, and I couldn't even understand the readings or the homilies, but I think they helped me anyway.

This. Recharges my spirit after a long week.

I haven't been going as much as I would like lately. Hopefully that will change soon.
