How does going to church make you feel?

Does it remind you of the recalcitrant sinner that you are or does it piss you off that you are not going to get back this couple of hours you just spent in order to please someone who requested for your presence? Does church make you happy sad or mad?

Strangely, if I go, I want the bugger up there preaching to do his job and not sugarcoat it. I feel better about going when I am reminded that I truly suck and should do better.

I go because I want to go.

I always leave church happier than when I walked in.

Wish I could go this am.

All of the above ... including seeing hot chicks. I appreciate beauty wherever I see it. I never DEpreciate beauty.

You should find whatever church those people in front the LSU union preach at. They love yelling at people and telling them they're going to hell.

It depends on my mood and what the 3 readings are for that day. As we go through the liturgical cycle, we run through the gamut of emotions and lessons--sometimes to remind us not to be too hard on ourselves ("my yoke is light"), and other times to get our asses in gear. Sometimes to concentrate on how our actions impact others, and sometimes to concentrate more on changing ourselves.

But however I feel going in, I usually feel better knowing that I received the sacrament, which is the primary reason why I go in the first place. And I have faith that the sacrament will work within me with grace, no matter how I happen to feel or not feel about it that day or week. Progress is not always apparent to how we feel.

I mean, shite, most of the masses I went to last year were in German, and I couldn't even understand the readings or the homilies, but I think they helped me anyway.

Honest response. Mass, and more specifically the homily, is one of the highlights of my week.

Sounds a bit masochistic, like a spiritual dominatrix. Different strokes I suppose.

I haven't been going as much as I would like lately. Hopefully that will change soon.

Making the extra effort to go when others choose the comfort of staying in bed gives you a positive sense of accomplishment that is missed by the rest.

No matter if you found the particular service connecting with you or not.

And that is worth it all by itself.
