Anthony Christiana, Gretna Deputy Chief of Police, says two unidentified men were riding in a vehicle heading westbound on the expressway near Stumpf Boulevard. The two men were smoking synthetic marijuana when they got into an argument. Christiana says at that time the driver pulled out a hand gun and started shooting at the passenger.
Police say the passenger jumped out of the vehicle and fled. The driver exited the vehicle and continued shooting at the passenger. Several passing cars were struck by bullets which caused the four car accident.

SynthPot or whatever it's called this week to be legal, is crap and should be banned.

It's only around because the much more dangerous substance is illegal.

I understand they get around the law by constantly altering the formulas, by why can't some sort of blanket ban happen? It's insane that this stuff is displayed next to the register in convenience stores.

Let's be honest, the fake weed probably had little to do with this.

Its so ridiculous that pot is illegal for most people. I have been able to smoke legally for about 10 years now and I can't imagine how shitty is must be for people that have to constantly live in fear of a felony.

This is also probably very true.

Frame it how you like. But there is no excuse for that dangerous shite to be legal in place of it's vastly safer 'cousin', which remains illegal. Being freedom loving doesn't mean I have to believe some half-assed, untested chemical should be available at the local Shell station.

You know you live in a world where people mix household chemicals and all kinds of crazy shite to get high right? Your ban prevents nothing.

Louisiana law does a fairly decent job at blocking analogues from being made legal. I cannot comment as to other states' response.

I've seen the stuff send people into full-on institutionalable mania. It's some pretty messed up pro-psychotic substance.

It will drive the cost up, and help remove the misconception some idiots have that it's a 'safe' alternative to weed. It will also get it out of the corner gas stations. In this state, I can't buy liquor in a gas station. I also can't buy it unless I'm 21. I can't get my daughters thyroid meds without a scrip. But I can buy a powerful, untested drug at a Chevron or the head shop?

That's all I'm saying. Even if it remains legal, it should be more tightly regulated. This stuff is largely produced by organized crime syndicates. I'd be mostly satisfied if we at least made it more difficult for teens to obtain.
