Saints at Falcons (-2)

This rivalry is full of hatred and these games are almost always close. Not pushing anything above three points is smart because it splits the sides to the point it should be fairly even. I like Matt Ryan and Julio Jones in a bounceback year and expect the Falcons to address offensive line or pass rush early and often in the draft. But grabbing Jairus Byrd in free agency is really going to make the Saints defense difficult to deal with. Assuming Jimmy Graham is signed to a deal and/or reports the offense shouldn't slow down."

Thoughts? I think it should be an easy cover. But I think the line will move more in the Saints favor as the preseason finishes.

The game will likely be close, but I would love to embarrass them at home. It's a dream of mine.

What I love most about this game is the two games following it. @Cleveland, vs Minnesota. No matter what happens week 1, we have two VERY favorable matchups following it.

We should be 5-0 going into the bye before we really have any tough opponents

Is there a bet for Jimmy bending their field goal post?

My thoughts are that its silly to put odds on games in April May June July or August.

Same mistake every team and every fan made about the Saints last year coming off of the 2012 season.

Signing Byrd has to make falcons fans cringe. We can basically bracket Julio, put champ on Rodney white, and shutdown Steven Jackson's fat arse. No tony, Kenny will be roman the field

I don't think Cleveland is getting enough credit for what they are doing. This is not the same team as two years ago. This could be a loss for us.

That's a lot harder than it looks

They have a very underrated defense and actually play well at home. They were top 10 so yeah, I kind of agree here.

They have a solid D, but with our D shaping up how it has this offseason there's no way I see them playing with us. Maybe if the game was later in the year, but not in September. Not with a brand new QB, and not with the run game they have. I give them credit for their new offseason signings, but I don't see them staying in the game with us.

What year was it we won like 45-16 or something? I remember Joe Horn scoring a TD and getting flagged for acting like he had a machine gun and mowing all the Falcons down

I agree. They have some nice pieces on Defense. Their O-line is stout, and they have some offensive weapons in Gordon, Cameron, and Tate. If they take Watkins in the 1st, and can hit on a QB after that, they'll be a nice team over the next few years.

Like I put in my prediction, early in the year newer QBs have a hard time adjusting.

I believe our defense is good enough to blanket their players as long as our pass rush is good enough to get to their QB, whoever it may be.

I give it a definite under type of game, something like 23-14, but it'll be a grind fest til the 4th quarter imo.

Tate's a nice add for them, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them add another top RB in this draft to supplement him, especially given his injury history.

while i agree that they will make the playoffs this year, playing them in week 2 really benefits us. they will likely have a rookie QB still learning and wont have the chemistry established yet. i was really glad we got them early rather than late.
