That's funny since their products are more expensive too.

Yeah, but I personally will never buy another Microsoft product.

People can call me a fan boy, but since I've slowly switched all of my components over to Apple, I couldn't be happier. Haven't had a single issue.

Whereas my work computer is microsoft and I want to throw that piece of shite through the window at least 2-3 times a week.

btw, sounding like this is a play to get them on the Dow

Ya, I'm all windows and android. Every time I use my fiance's apple I get frustrated because I'm not used to it. I'm a creature of habit

Making moves. I think it will be interesting to see how the Dow wants to benchmark.

I used to be the complete opposite and make fun of Apple people and how much they paid for their shite... Now that I have spent the money and gotten the best service and not had to buy a single version of spyware/anti-virus/hard drive cleanup/etc... I will never go back.

They were saying the reason they weren't on there was because of how expensive the stock was and this is a play to change that.

Glad I've held onto my shares for 20 years. Should be a nice payday.

I have an amateur investor question- should one buy in now or after the split? Say I have $1000. 2 shares now or 14 shares post split, or does it really matter 1 way or the other?

doesn't matter. Only buy if you think the company is a good value at this point. I've played the market with apple a few times but right now I'm just holding.

7:1 is pretty astounding.

I love it.

Will probably get back in and start buying shares incrementally.

It is absurd that a split results in a bump in overall market cap. The human psyche is quite odd.

I've been running on Windows for quite some time and haven't had any of the troubles you report.

Then again, I don't click on phishy emails and have solid backups that I practice occasionally so I'm not concerned.

I use windows and view a lot of free interracial porn. Never had an issue. Moral of story? Sell Apple short.

How is it odd?

A share of Apple will go from $550 to $85.

It makes it more accessible and encourages individual investors that will not lay down a car note on one share of a stock.

It resets and then starts a climb from the reset.

I lost my nerve and sold my Apple stock during the wild swings and flash crashes leading up to Steve Job's death. If I still had it, damn, what a wonderful world this would be.
