The bread was done perfectly. I cheated, usually make my own but was being lazy that night. Also yes we had to go out for another bottle after dinner.

I have to have mine off the grill. I am not a fan of the skillet steak at all, but hey to each his own and thanks for the compliments.

Very nice. The steak is cooked perfectly. I didn't notice if there was anything else on the plate...

I like my steaks grilled, too. I know, big surprise, there...

I'd have used a much coarser grain salt and ground pepper, used more of it, cooked them on a higher temperature and for way less time, and skipped the butter step...but bravo for making such a great meal.

I'm the same way. Used to only use a grill. Now the majority of time I roll with cast iron

As self appointed President of the Green Onion, Scallion and Chive Association of FDB, I'm saddened.

Meal looks good. I like more sear on steaks, but I'd enjoy that meal.

Tried this for the first time a couple weeks ago and it's going to be hard to go back to the grill.

Agreed up to a point. I like a thick cut steak med rare. But that's just my preference.

Also, OP.. did you use a filter on the cross section photo? Looks odd.

I don't know why it looks odd. Must just be the settings that my phone was on.
