I watched a few of these ancient alien shows yesterday and they said the term Ancient Astronaut Theorist no less than 100 times. Great term, and I'd use it to if it were my show.

Anyway, even though the probability that Greek gods were actually aliens is very damn low, it makes more sense to me than the Catholic doctrine of God. Not enough to do anything about it, though what would you even do if it were true? If tomorrow they found proof that humans were shaped or advanced because of intervention from aliens, I could accept it and move on as if it were inconsequential to me.

Some of the shite they say on those shows as fact can't be true. "_________ mountain in Pakistan had Uranium mined from it 8,000 years ago." Oh really, you don't say?

I have been on a space kick lately. It hurts my brain.

There are likely 300 Billion galaxies, all of which contain billons of potential Earth like planets.

And we care about SEC football, it's very strange

Me too, and what a shifty looking bunch. I love they put human characteristics to the aliens..."they don't want to hurt anyone, maybe it was just collateral damage when they probed the area."

I just found out that the Voyager I is still going, it's outside of Pluto now.

Also, isn't our solar system (the Sun and it's satellites) rotating around the center of the Milky Way? What's in the center?

It's been outside of Pluto for a long while now. It's actually left the solar system all together if I remember correctly. it entered interstellar space not long ago I believe.

Yes, but we're nowhere near the center. We're actually towards the outer part of one of he spiral arms....

They believe it's a super massive black hole.

The most popular theory among scientists is a black hole.

I am so ignorant on this stuff, ever time I think about it I get obsessed.

Is the Milky Way rotating around something else?

What I love is how they have dueling hypotheticals and sell each as the most logical explanation.

ie Dragons and flying serpents definitely are ancient man's attempt at describing a space craft. Then the next scene Dragons are definitely proof of reptilian aliens.

They don't do it as an or/maybe situation, they sell one thing as incontrovertible proof of multiple, mutually exclusive things.

BTW, if you like this subject, I highly recommend checking out Stargate SG-1. It's a great scifi series based on Ancient Aliens being real. It probably holds up even better today than when they made it because of the popularity of Ancient Astronaut Theorists.

It's part of what is called the "Local Group". We're locked into a dance with the Andromeda Galaxy and scientists believe we will collide and merge with it in about 4 billion years.

Same thing that's in the center of all spiral galaxies.

The coolest death imaginable.
