Did you seek out job options, or did a head hunter/associate/competitor seek you out?

Going to start browsing the usual sites online to get a feel for what is out there. Been working full time since graduating 5 years ago.

A couple of my contacts at work (clients- not the same industry as current employer) have told me casually that I should let them know if I begin looking for other employment. If it gets serious I would consider doing that, but if nothing comes from it I wouldn't want to jeopardize my current employer's relationship with them.

Curious how the OTers earned their current positions. Or should I just quit and move to a beach?

TIA

I ate a lot of mushrooms and decided I wanted to run a farm. Transferred to a college where they offered a program that taught how to run one. Borrowed capital from family members to purchase property and equipment.

People made poor choices. They then offered me money to make the poor choices not impact them negatively going forward.

Awesome. If you don't mind me asking, how much money do you make?

Been watching real world/road rules challenges for years and decided I could compete with those people and love to travel. So I made a couple phone calls to friends and they got me in touch with the right people. Been competing in challenges now for 5-6 years

This spring, I cleared about $75,000 in revenue (which is really the total for the year, unless I come up with another scheme). Taxes and variable costs will bump that down to around 45-50k, but I have a good accountant, so we shall see.

Was casually (I thought) laying pipe and several of the womenses said "You lay pipe like an OT-Baller Pron star."

I said to myself: "Hmmmm self".

Next thing I know, I'm getting paid AND laid.

Capital maintenance and taxes, for the most part. Gas, random tools, and seeds every now and then. I don't have any labor costs, but I do have WWOOFers who work for room and board.

I use a CSA format, and sell to local restaurants. Farmer's markets are not optimal, IMO.
