Who here has done this? I just saw one that looks like a good deal in Mexico and was thinking of jumping on it. What is the situation with transport from the airport to the resort? The one I saw included the flight as well. Do you get to pick your departure time, etc?

I have not done it, but I have a friend that buys them all the time and says they have all been legit and a great time. Most of them are just new places that are looking to get their name out and get more business.

I'm sure each deal is different. Read the fine print or call and find out.

Yeah, this is for a 7-night all inclusive in Playa del Carmen with flight from NOLA for $999/person. I didn't find any of the info I was looking for in the fine print so I will have to call them.

I bought a trip to Puerto Vallarta from Living Social a few years ago and it was a great trip. Call the hotel and they will set you up with transport from the airport.

The wife and I bought a trip off Groupon last year to Ireland and stayed at the Ritz outside of Dublin. Included, flight, hotel, and car. We upgraded to a suite and I think it was something like $3500 total, would do it again for sure.
But there's so many trips to choose from, my biggest concern was the quality of the hotel, and I didn't have to worry too much about the Ritz being decent.

Did the all inclusive to Playa del Carmen minus the flight back in November. It was legit.

Wasn't really even on the radar until I saw that deal this morning. We were planning on heading to the mountains in TN/NC to visit the family but it is looking like the timing might not work out for that.

We stayed at the Blue Diamond Riviera Maya. Very relaxing.

What resort in Playa?
I stayed at Playacar palace there in December and the location and beach is perfect.

We used one a couple years ago. I can't remember which trip it was. Either New Orleans or NYC. It wasn't a flight included deal. Just a hotel for so many nights, but it was a good price and we enjoyed it. I think it might have been New Orleans. I think I used Hilton Points for NYC's hotel.

This one. So good stuff? Easy airport access?
ETA: Sorry - the one I am referring to is called Sandos Caracol. These things all sound the same to me.

I thought most of Mexico was a no-go right now bc of the drug lords

It's about 40 minutes from airport. Just call resort and see about setting up transportation.
Resort is small(like 200 rooms)but literally right next to where you take the ferry to Cozumel. Also you can easily walk to 5th Avenue from the resort. (Shopping, restaurants, bars, etc).
Food was good....Italian restaurant there is the best. Make reservations for the Japanese restaurant if you want front row seats (you know...where they chop everything up in front if you and cook it)
Spa there is really nice.
Smaller pool than the big resorts but the beach area is really nice.
Each room has a jacuzzi tub in it. See if you can call and ask for a room on a higher floor. 3rd or better.
It's a palace resort so you can visit the other resorts for free. When we went we got $1500 in resort credits that we used for spa stuff and room upgrades. See if they are still doing that deal.
My husband and I liked it there. Would go again. Like I said.....it's an awesome location if you don't want to stay cooped up at the resort.

That's a good deal, I found Costco has prices that are similar or less than Groupon for places like that.

We felt safe there. The tourist towns are ok. Just be a smart traveler.

Saw your edit. I don't know that one.
