Did Bale solidify himself as a Top 10 player today?

I think he is Top 5, but I think most of the world would say Top 10 after today. First trophy, and he put the team on his back (without CR7).

That goal was something else. Common in video games, ultra rare in Tier 1 soccer.

Any Tottenham fan would know this has been true for a year now

Oh yeah. I've been mocked for a couple of years for saying Bale is the third best player in the world. Lots of people didn't have him Top 20 before this year.

I would agree with that top 5 although I would rank them CRon, Messi, Ibra, Bale, Suarez. I think those guys are so far above the next group (Ozil, Iniesta, Cesc, Ribery, Robben, etc).

Then there's Toure but who knows where to rank him based on one incredible season?

3)Ibra
4)Suarez
5)Bale

He is such a game changer. A truly freakish athlete. I love him, but not sure he is top 5 quite yet. Top 10 for sure and that is saying a lot.

I wonder how much more attention he would get if he played for a national team worth a damn. Sadly for him I don't see Wales making a World Cup anytime soon.

It is sad that Bale and Ramsey will never qualify for the World Cup or Euros. Two great players, who aren't even at their peak yet.

I'm sure England wished they were both born a few miles further east.

Nah, he did that a good while ago.

I actually think Wales an qualify for a Euros in Bale and Ramseys career. Those 2 alone are good enough to win games against most european qualifying teams and with the Euros expanding it is being made easier.

Actually fancied a little flutter on them to qualify for '16

Bale obviously did this last year when he carried Tottenham on his back. I thought it was fricking laughable when some posters on here were saying he was not even the best player in the Prem last year.

Lot of suck in this post.

1. Two years ago he was nowhere near the 3rd best player in the world so you deserved any mocking you got.

2. There is virtually nobody who wouldn't have had him top 20 before this season. You think Real would pay the most money ever for a player who wasn't widely regarded as one of the very best in the world?

But don't let that keep you from continuing to pat yourself on the back.

I'd say top 20... don't think top 10

On his game, he can be one of the most electrifying...

Depends upon if we're doing the "attacking players only" thing, or not

A super annoying tendency of these lists. I think Modric has played unbelievably well for Madrid, but because he doesn't score he can't be a top five player? Basically I hate these lists because they ignore my favorite types of players, the DLP.
