Any of yall subscribe to the WSJ and get hit with the recent rate increases? Last year they hit me up paying $64/quarter, now those bastards want $28.99/month. I'm strongly considering telling them to go to hell. I enjoy the print edition, but at some point it just isn't worth it. This is the second year in a row they have hit me with an absurd rate hike.

Do you know anybody with a .edu email address? Students get 75% off subscriptions. They can also get the first 15 weeks for only $1/week.

I use my student discount and it's 100 bucks a year. That's about to end though but I'll probably keep the digital stuff.

I may do that, or just use points to purchase it.

i cancelled a few years ago, even the online thing is a scam. They want $25 a month for online.

especially b.c for 75% of the content you can get beyond the paywall by using two browsers. Find the article you want, then google the title in another browser and most of the time you can go directly to the article.

Regularly clear your browser cache for this to work though.

Uh oh, it won't be long before you're labeled a thief.

how exactly is that theft? They are offering it for free! You just have to use a different browser. I always keep two browsers open anyway.

WSJ is pricey and they love a good rate increase.

I share the online/print(we each get one) version with one person. It's a good way to try to lower the total cost.

Just playing with you

It is funny how they allow that though. I've seen that with many sites.

I can never get through FT though if they don't want you there.

Yeah. FT is strictly pay walled but the economist/WSJ/NYT/Wapo are easy to bypass.

I usually find FT content isn't that good though, but I am not a financials expert. I actually am slowly moving all my assets for someone else to manage, its just too much work.
