ATL Saturday home game Scheduling thread

Looking to take the family to a Braves game, and I saw that there are very few Saturday afternoon games. What is the deal? Is it because of TV?
I'm in Birmingham, so a night game isn't out of the question, but I'd probably end up staying in ATL for the night after a late game. Just kind of makes it hard for those 2-3 hours away to make a weekend game without spending the night. I remember going to weekend series with my parents and maybe my grandparents a few times, and we'd do the Friday night game, Saturday afternoon, then Sunday afternoon, before driving back home. I'd end up a little late to the Friday night game, but usually there by the 2nd inning.
Here's the Saturday schedule of Home Games.
4/26 - Reds - 7:10
5/3 - Giants - 7:10
5/10 - Cubs - 7:10
About the only shot would be 5/24 - Rockies - 4:10
6/14 - Angels - 7:10
7/5 - D-Backs - 4:10 - Another possibility but that is July 4th Weekend.
7/19 - Phillies - 7:10
7/26 - Padres - 7:10
8/9 - Nationals - 7:10
8/16 - A's - 7:10
8/30 - Marlins - 7:10
9/20 - Mets - 7:10
And it seems like most Sunday games are at 1:35, with the exception of a couple late afternoon games. There's a couple that we could make it to and get back home at a decent hour for the kids.

I have been frustrated that every time I'm coming home they will be out of town. I feel your pain

Biggest reason is the Fox game of the week has an exclusive telecast window, and that keeps the Braves from playing at that time due to the games being broadcast on FSN or SportsSouth.
Also, they already play midday game on Sundays, so hey try to limit the number of midday games in Atlanta on Saturdays because of the hits.

And June's schedule is going to be rough. 9 home games, 18 road games. I thought most months were fairly equal, but that is a long stretch of road games. May is just the opposite.

I prefer the later games; afternoon games in the middle of summer can be brutal.

I like the 4:10 games when I go.

Yeah, I've done that plenty. I was just thinking that there would be more of them in April and May. A few years ago, my parents had great seats down the 1st base line but closer to home plate than 1st, and couldn't make the game. Dad overnighted the tickets to me (and a crisp $100 bill for concessions), and me and the wife drove over. I was burning up by the 3rd inning, and shirtless by the 4th. Direct sunlight, no breeze, and plenty of cold beer. My clothes were soaked with sweat. I had planned ahead and brought a change of clothes to drive home in though.

Always go 3rd base line if you can.

Yeah, but these were free to me! And I don't think there were any close to the field when dad bought them. It was sort of a last minute thing. He ordered the tickets like 2 weeks out, and something came up and he couldn't make it.
