LINK So the Carpenters Union starts protesting with a sign out side the subaru dealership and mild hilarity ensues...

Wichita is the headquarters of Koch. Obviously these guys are in the bag.

I saw something on this few weeks ago. It's a very clever way to give the union the middle finger.

Is Subaru making their cars from lumber these days?
OR - did they use a mechanic or salesman to uncrate a shipment of motor oil?
OR - [gasp] - did they construct a couple of sawhorses to block off a section of the parking lot?
Inquiring minds want to know . . . .

It doesn't take much. I once carried a small rug into the Anaheim Convention Center and you would have thought I was carrying Jimmy Hoffa's severed head the way the union closed on me.

I was at a Volkswagen dealership in Houston just days after the Tennessee workers voted the UAW out of their plant. The dealerships sales manager said they were getting customers based on that vote.

fricking right. That's awesome.
I've seen those exact banners around town in PHX. Same design, just shaming a different person/business. It's like there's a national organization coord... oh.

The dealership did some remodeling and didn't use union labor. Dealership wins.

I don't think unions are as necessary as they used to be. I think unions are more of a free market approach to labor rules. However unions aren't really necessary if we're going to put in place laws to protect workers and not just reach contracts and agreements on what the business will do for the work force.

In some states they are a free market approach(read: right to work states). They stop being a free market approach when they start strongarming legislation to make everyone pay dues.
