University of Michigan men’s basketball head coach John Beilein announced today (Thursday, April 10) senior forward Jon Horford(Grand Ledge, Mich./Grand Ledge HS) will not return to the Wolverine program in 2014-15, planning to transfer for his final season of eligibility.

“Jon has been an integral part of our many accomplishments over the last four years,” said Beilein. “He brought great enthusiasm, leadership and work ethic to our program. Jon is a wonderful young man, who has a very bright future ahead of him. With his graduation this May, he will have the opportunity to play immediately at another Division I program. We will be rooting for him every step of the way.”

Most of y'all won't care, but I know there are a few Big ten basketball fans here.

Havent heard much, but I think he comes back. He would be a second rounder this year, and could be a lottery pick next year.

McGary is going to be 30 by the time he enters the draft.

McGary should've turned pro after last year's tournament... he's cost himself two years of earnings... and probably won't be taken as high as he would have in the 13 draft.

If he plays next year like he did in the tournament he will be a top 5 pick. Next years draft is really weak.

maybe... maybe not...so was last year's draft.

don't get me wrong, i'd be thrilled if i was a mich fan... but it seems like more times than not, coming back to school hurts a guy (WCS at UK is probably another example... Marcus Smart a Ok State another).

I think his hands are tied now that he got injured.

hindsight is 20/20 tho. Of course it would have been better to enter the draft knowing what we know now.

Its too bad too, because they could have won the title with him. Now they will be a really good team, but not a great team next year without Stauskas.

He says he hasnt made his mind up, but there are rumors he already hired Bartelstein as an agent.
