best place in BR to take a Beretta 3901 that needs fixing?

Beretta 3901, won't cycle shells properly. I bought almost new from someone who'd won it in a raffle (allegedly). Cleaned entire gun multiple times, put >200 rounds through the gun to try and break it in, per suggestions on various websites. Gun still will not cycle shells properly.
Jim's or somewhere else?

What exactly isn't it doing? Is the shell getting hung up I'm reciever? Is getting thrown halfway out? Need more info

will it not cycle different types of shells, or have you just tried one? I own this gun and have not experienced any issues. I did however hammer about 50-75 higher dram loads through it though when I bought it new. I have heard of low brass light loads not cycling sometimes if you don't break it in with heavier shells.
What have you shot through it and how is it hanging up? Not ejecting I assume, but wanted to ask.

one of the suggestions for this was from Beretta.

in most cases (80% of the time) when you fire, the next shell will load, but it will somehow not load with enough force to be able to fire the shell. so, shell is loaded into the chamber, but you have to manually either re-rack or jam the bolt forward by hand to get the shell to load 100%. sometimes if you pull the trigger multiple times it will eventually fire the second shell. about 5-10% of the time it will load correctly and shoot like it should. every once in a while it will jam open. it's like the action is getting gummed up or something, but once again, i've cleaned this gun many times to make sure it's not just dirty.

i've shot low brass 2.75", high brass 2.75" and high brass 3".
i've put 6-7 boxes of high brass through it. another couple of boxes of target loads.

it ejects fully and loads the next shell, but unless you jam the bolt forward by hand, or pull back the bolt and let it ram foward again, it won't fire the next shell.

What kind of shells? I recently started having a problem with my 870 cycling Kents, almost like they changed their tolerances or something. Not saying that is the problem, but it could be.

they were cheap shells. mostly winchester super x and a couple of boxes of rem high speed steel.
hard to pay $20/box when you're just trying to break in the gun. maybe this is the problem.

Nah I'd think if it didn't cycle 2 different kinds you may have some other kind of issue. And I'm no expert with Berettas or semis so I'll just sit back and listed

Next time I'll try that guy. I just paid barking irons $25 to tell me I need to clean the gun better.

I'm betting they told you to clean out the ports that channel gas from the barrel to the piston.

I have a Benelli SBE2, I clean it at the end of the season.....if I remember.

Check it against a parts diagram first. I bought one off a guy who said it would only cycle hot loads. Took it home and found that the spacer up by the barrel nut was missing. Bought one off Brownells for 15 bucks or so and now it works like a champ. There is also a couple parts that you can reverse and it will do that. I believe its the spacer and the spring.

yeah i've been worried about it being something like that. i'll get a diagram tomorrow and disassemble & clean it and then make double sure i'm putting it back together properly.

I may start a gunsmithing business. I'd be willing to bet at least 75% of guns brought in that don't work just need to be cleaned. The mechanics behind how firearms function is very simple; and most have few parts.

The spacer I'm talking about is number 52 on that diagram. It's also easy to reverse number 52 and 53 on there.
