bunch of replacement hardware that always ends up rusted is prob practical: pliers, etc
i used a gift certificate on a toolbox that has been helpfull
another idea is a crap-load of hooks, weights, lead heads, corks, line etc

Lifetime pliers man

I opted for a $30 pair of aluminum pliers with titanium coated steel teeth and cutters I found on amazon instead. The teeth and cutters are replaceable so at best when they shite out I can replace them, at worse I'm only out $30.

This is exactly why I think they're kind of ridiculous. You obviously found what seems to be a viable alternative for 1/10th of the cost. I really don't use my pliers often enough to feel like I need a "lifetime" pair. I would like to test out one of their reels though. Just too rich for my blood.

Didn't make one but pop went with a Frontier Meridian 2104. Also looked at nautic star, blue wave, sportsman, xpress, key west in person and of at the layout of blazer bay online. Frontier surpassed all of them in terms of layout in our opinion. Note: all were within $3000 when similarly equipped.

If I was ranking them (and this is just my opinion after sitting in every jump seat, sticking my head in every hatch, flipping every switch, etc...):
1) frontier 2104
2) sportsman 214
3) blue wave
4) key west
5) nautic star

I can't really rank the xpress against those because it's too different (not bad, just not the same catagory).

Very nice!

Looks rigged out nice too.

If Pop bought that boat, you oughta buy Pop a powerpole.

Lemme know if you need another party around.

I'm hoping to spend more time at the islands this year.
