Late late shows aren't exactly ratings busters...

quote:

At 12:35 a.m., NBC’s “Late Night With Seth Meyers” hit three-week highs last week, with its 0.70 rating in adults 18-49 and 1.995 million total viewers up vs. the prior week by 4% and 8% respectively. In 18-49, it outdelivered CBS’ “Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson” by 79% (0.70 vs. 0.39) and ABC’s “Nightline” by 95% for their common half-hour (0.80 vs. 0.41).

If the Drew Carey Show is ever put on Netflix, my free time would cease to exist.

He's funny as hell, and doesn't has to go over the top for laughs. Probably why he's not as embraced in the ratings.

Random but: last summer I ended up backstage at his show. His makeup and intern/staff girls are the same smoke show that comes out to dance. Possible Asain fetish and a shameless, awesome hiring practice.

I miss it

I remember watching the first episode and saying this is either going to be a big hit, or 6 people in Cleveland are going to be pissed when it gets cancelled in a month.

I love him. My SO doesn't care for him (she's a Kimmel person and finds Craig creepy, which he most certainly is ). He was actually really funny as the host of "The Price is Right" last week. I saw a taping of the Late Late Show back in 2009 and have been hooked ever since (it's even funnier live). I remember back when the robot could only say the word "balls" and the phrase "in your pants". Those were simpler times.

That was hilarious. And yeah Craig Ferguson is pretty hilarious. I wish his show wasn't on so late.

We would never know.

You know those rating systems are flawed. They don't take in account houses that have, uh, more than two television sets and other - other things of that nature.

Honestly, I've never seen Ferguson's show before. I might have to give it a shot one night based on some of the comments in this thread. I'm sure I'll get hated on for this, but I like Fallon on The Tonight Show. Big fan of Conan as well.

Plus most of the 18-49 demographic that would perfer Ferguson over Meyers is actually asleep by the time either show comes on.

Craig Kilborn, plus he'd probably work for 50k a year.

Oh, currently? Does Jon Stewart count? If so then definitely Stewart.
