I'm familiar with this guy. He led Sam Houston to the FCS National Championship Game his sophomore and junior seasons.

He's not a "workhorse" back, and he's not a Darren Sproles replacement. He's comparable to Pierre Thomas, but probably not as versatile.

quote:

Flanders rushed for 1,430 yards and 14 touchdowns last season.

He fnished his career with 5,664 rushing yards and 420 points scored with 66 rushing touchdowns.

Flanders is the all-time leading rusher in Southland Conference history.

quote:

The 5-foot-9, 210-pounder ran the 40-yard dash in 4.56 seconds at his campus Pro Day workout, improving upon his 4.75 clocking at the NFL scouting combine.

At the combine, he bench pressed 225 pounds 20 times and had a 32-inch vertical leap and a 9-5 broad jump.

He can break the big one. Clearly we lack that. Other than that, he's a rotation guy.

so he's not a workhorse, he's not a replacement for DS, and he's not versatile... What does he do? Run in a straight line?

Cadet could be the closest.

I can see that.

I said "less versatile than Pierre Thomas" because the second I say he's similar to Thomas people will point out that Thomas is the best screen pass guy in the NFL, and Flanders isn't that guy yet. But they are similar runners, similar size, similar speed.

Looks like a potential UDFA. It says that in 2011 he had 34 catches for 414 yards.

Good, he can replace the aging Cadet.

shite, Hill might be available in the 3rd.
I'd take him in a heartbeat with that pick; but be prepared bc apparently playing for LSU automatically disqualifies you for eligibility for the saints according to the populace on this board.

Although, in hill's case; quite a few at-home st mock drafts took him in the 4th, but those don't amount to much but entertainment.

Nobody believes that. Nobody has ever said that.

It's more a reaction to the quantity of those threads, and that a lot of that has to do with the ridiculous homerism in those threads. Like people freaking out because we didn't draft Terrance Toliver or sign him every time he got cut from a practice squad.
