Cool pic of the day: 8-Hours Of Planes Taking Off At LAX In A Single Image

Way more than the number of planes in that photo will take off from a single runway at LAX in an 8hr period. Cool pic, though.

I expected there to be more planes than that in an 8 hour span.

Four. Two for takeoff and two for landing. But iirc one of them was under major repair recently so they were using one for takeoffs and two for landings.

I think it should be a bit more:

On a slow day, possibly. They had 20 departures in the last 18 minutes. Assuming that's on two runways they're still looking at 240 departures.

is MH370 anywhere in there?
