Earthquakes swarming and getting stronger.

If you are the Mayor (or the Governor), do you order an evacuation?

If L.A. gets hit by "the big one" and is more or less destroyed, does the U.S. government pay to rebuild it, knowing it could happen again?

This is just the engine turning over after yanking the crank cord of the Katrina doomsday device.

No worries.

"Obama hates brown people"

Can you blame him? One of them killed his imaginary son.

Drudge never exaggerates or misleads in it's headlines so....might as well cede LA to the ocean.

Stop being a douche.

Asking a legitimate hypothetical question based on some reports.

It's hard for me to empathize with the folks in LA or New Orleans. I mean, you KNOW the fricking disaster is coming and yet people still choose to live there. Unfortunately for the American tax payer, we will foot the bill for their bad decisions when it happens..... Again.

Maybe the whole bay are will just fall off into the ocean. It'll still be Bush's fault, but would definitely shift the voting demographics of Cali.

Depends on how you look at it. Some might think he would be his greatest achievement.

I see your point and agree with you to an extent. However you're going to have bad situations occurring anywhere you live.

Gulf Coast, Eastern Coast subject to Hurricanes

Midwest subject to serious tornadoes

Far North subject to freezing and dangerous amounts of snowfall

etc...

The benefits to a society from people who work and live in these areas far outweigh any cost that is incurred from natural disaster... now a tornado or drought in non-coastal Alabama; not so much.

Yeah...how would this country make it without LA, Oakland, Compton and San Fran Hell a tornado in non coastal Alabama doesn't kill as many people as a LA race riot or a rogue LAPD officer.
