This seems like a very common theme on the board. Everyone keeps saying how great he is right now being so young, and he is for sure, I'm not denying that at all. But it is always followed up with something similar to: and he's nowhere near his full potential/he is only going to get so much better.

He's already a monster. Do we really expect him to get THAT much better?

Have you been watching the past few weeks?

He's a monster now.

His improvement on his mid range jump shot alone leads me to believe there's still a good bit of room for growth. He's reported to be working on his three point shot for next year as well. If he gets a decent shot there, it would just be unfair.

He could still get stronger and also extend his range more to the 3PT line.

I think most analyst think he can add more post moves to his game also.

in terms of PPG and RPG, maybe a few extra PPG and 1 or 2 more RPG would be pretty amazing. but his biggest improvements will come in the efficiency metrics, along with the stuff you don't see on the stat sheet on defense.

Put some real players around him for a significant length of time and we'll see.

Remember how good that Holiday-Gordon-Reke-Ryno-AD lineup was earlier this year? Imagine that with Reke at the 2 and a good shooter at the 3 with Davis in beast-mode.

That lineup will frick some people up offensively without being a fast-running offense a la D'Antoni or George Karl.

He's has been putting up monster numbers as of late. Now imagine him next year with an actual post-up game or extending his shot beyond the 3pt arc. It's scary to think what he can develop in to.

Yes. He still has much to learn on defense on terms of footwork and the mental game. That comes with age and experience (and a better system/teammates)

His offense is still fairly raw. What he does so well is his ability to score in almost every conceivable way. Post ups, pnr, pnp, fast break, spot up, iso, etc. He can improve his efficiency in almost all of these categories

agreed. i think people see "peak" in terms of PPG…sure, he may not get that much higher than where he is right now in terms of PPG, but it's going to be how he's getting those points that will improve and make him that much better.

Which is scary, because he's already historically efficient

nope. hes gonna be the only player to top at at 21yrs old.

Kidding. Of course he will improve. Hes just beginning to scratch the surface of his potential. And its only his 2nd season in the league. He will get more mature and more comfortable out there the older he gets. When that happens, look out.

Even if he doesnt improve physically, highly doubtful though, he will still improve mentally as he matures.

I haven't followed other teams enough to make a call on that. But he is obviously advanced well beyond his age so he's a unique case. I'm just saying, how much better is he going to get? People seem to think a lot.

See this is the type of phrase I'm having trouble with. I don't see how anyone THIS good, is only scratching the surface. Yea, maybe last year when we saw glimpses of what he could do I could see "scratching the surface," but he is beyond that now.

To be fair he's only been on this streak for about 8 games. Before that he still had some games of like 11 points/4 rebounds stuff like that. Look at Lebron and kd, they virtually never have games like that. Their off games are still points in the high teens and doing a decent job at stuffing the stat sheet elsewhere.

So his season long consistency can improve, he can also improve his playmaking ability. We've seen him make some really nice passes and show some vision I think he could get up to about 4 assists a game. His usage could also improve. In the top ten of PER he has the lowest usage, and in the top 20 only Andre Drummond and Brendan Wright, pure putback and rebound guys, have a lower usage than them

Conceivably, while the team gets better around him, his pure PPG/RPG stats could stay similar.

But as others have said, he will be so much better in other ways. Taking over games in the clutch, getting stronger defensively, scoring in a variety of ways, making his entire team better.

Not necessarily.

Hes been really good all year, but the past few weeks hes been elite and dominant. For the month of March hes averaging 27.5ppg, 11.8rebs, 2.3 blocks, and very efficient %s.

HIs points and rebs are the highest that they have ever been. And those are the type of #s we could see from him in the future.

Hes always been really good and efficient, but the last month hes been elite / great/ insanely dominant. Hes demanding the ball more, which is awesome to see. Hes getting more comfortable out there and is taking over games on both ends of the court.
