Over the past year I have been fishing more and more with the fluke. So far the only brand I have used is the Strike King 3X brand flukes. What I like is that they are very durable. I typically catch 8-20 bass on a single bait.

I was just curious what others were using.

Do you have a favorite brand / color

My go to bait is the Strike King 3x in white with silver glitter. Bait is very durable, floats and is very easy to texas rig due to the design.

Do the Zoom brand flukes float or do they sink? (assume you are fishing them with just a bare hook)

Gonna be really original here and say Zoom Super Fluke. I like the silver metallic color and pearl white.

I use Zoom and Strike King KVD's. The KVD's are a little heavier, I like them in windier conditions.

Looks like Zoom is by far the favorite. Looks like that will be my next purchase.

to "tigersownall" (or anyone) how do you fish the Tiny Fluke?

I have seen them in the store and they have a real match the hatch thing going for them. I see a lot of shad schools were the minnows are 1-2 inches long and are very slim just like these.

My question is how do you rig them up?

I suppose I could hook one up just the same as the big one but use a 1/0 hook, only thing is that I feel like I wouldn't be able to cast it more then 15' from the boat.

Do you put them on jig head? Jig head with spinner?

I will have to check out the KVD line then. Lure weight it key for me. Most of the places I fish are massive grass flats, so making long casts is vital to finding fish.

Also out of curiosity did the KVD line replace the 3X line of baits for Strike King? Or is this just a new product line featuring KVD?

Jig head with spinner works. It's pretty much my go to bait for everything. Even can catch trout with them under a cork.

I've always used Zoom as well, but I do find that they are not durable at all especially the smaller ones. I just noticed the Gary Yamamotos the other day in the bait shop and of course they are probably more durable but also more expensive. Will def check out the Strike Kings next time.

If you are looking for durability try the Strike King 3X line. It is a very 'stretchy' type rubber much different than the classic worm rubber you typically see.

Yeah I saw Yamamoto had a line of flukes. I would imagine they would use the same material as their other lines. I bet you could throw them a country mile...however I typically avoid their baits purely for the fact that I don't want to drop $7 on a pack of soft plastics.
