In this Tuesday, March 18, 2014 photo, Michael Smith, left, stands beside a Somerset County Sheriff deputy outside his home in Norridgewock, Maine. Officers armed with assault rifles descended on Smith's home after members of a tree removal crew he'd told to clear off his property reported that he had a gun. The "gun" the tree crew had seen on Smith actually was a life-sized tattoo of a handgun on his stomach. (AP Photo/Morning Sentinel, David Leaming)

He's lucky they didn't shoot him after refusing to put the 'gun' on the ground

Why would that even warrant the police coming to his property? He obviously didn't point it at anybody. He was on his own property correct?

That what I want to know. Surely having it tucked in your waist bad (if it was real) would not be considered brandishing?

That's how it sounds to me...

Was my understanding that the tree trimmers called the police and said they had been threatened by a man with a gun.Its not like the cops went there to take a gun from a law abiding citezen. They went there to respond to a criminal complaint where a gun was reported to be involved.

Dont see what yall are all fussing about

What's the likely hood of you drawing your gun if you saw a gun tattoo like that.
