NFL All-Pro safety Darren Sharper appears on Monday, March 24, 2014, in Los Angeles Superior Court in Los Angeles. The judge has again refused to release Sharper from jail. Sharper is awaiting trial in Los Angeles after pleading not guilty to charges that he raped and drugged two women last year. He was previously released on $1 million bail before being charged in Arizona with similar counts.

He should eBay some of these autographed used orange jerseys.

This has to be one of the most disturbing things that has ever happened to a current of former NFL player. More so the high profile player that Sharper was. Did he not have a pretty good shot at make the HOF? I have not been watching a lot of Inside the NFL or ESPN lately, are they blowing up on this story?

It doesn't come close to Hernandez or Carruth.

Not really. ESPN still goes to live coverage when Hernandez has a court date, probably NE bias though.

Not even in the same ballpark.

I'm glad he was caught. Lot's of rapists love the control and they will get more violent as time goes on. His arrest could have saved a life.

It comes very close, i.e. OD or as I stated in my earlier post, these offenders usually get more violent.

I didn't know that. I hope he wasn't raping people while on our team.
This apparently began after he left the NFL.

yes

Also, I assume probably 60-70% of the suits are BS, but he's got like what, 15 allegations or something now? Dude's definitely sick.

Yeah, 6/10 or 7/10 aren't legit. /sarcasm

Dude was doing this everywhere he went. Can't fix crazy.

There are reasons to kill someone (not Carruth/Hernandez). There is never a justification for rape. Rapists = mind fricked up, no rehab.

ok, maybe my % are exaggerated, but I think the pattern of allegations is too ridiculous. 1 then 2, then 5,then 10 etc. From the allegations I've read about, it involves heavy drinking and 90lb women. Who knows, but as I said way too many to doubt that he did exactly what he's accused of on some of the occasions..

There is no reason for ending someones life unjustifiably (aka murder, not just "killing"). At least rape victims get to go on with their life; albeit with certain issues, but those issues don't involve waking up, circulating blood, respiration....

Wow, did you just drop the, "at least" and "get to go on with their life" in the same sentence. Man some of the reasoning in this thread is fricked up!!!! In this case I think it is best to not compare. Both are horrible and equal acts against humanity.

It's hard to imagine sharper is some serial rapist raping a bunch of women.

But

Don't compare rape and murder and say rape is no big deal because the victim is still alive.

Unless you're Sharper irl

It is truly hard to rap your mind around it. Just goes to show you that no one knows what goes on in ones mind or behind closed doors. We have some fricked up individuals in this society. Some that look the part others that you would not have had a freaking clue!

The worst thing is I actually took his back when the allegations came to surface.

Then saw some more details on here about the morphine and Ambien he was putting in the drinks...
Truly a POS. I'm happy with what he did in '09 and he used to be one of my favorite players, but I can't respect him anymore.

No and you are right. But man it is getting really hard to pull for his side on this. Either they have some screwed up chicks looking for a pay day and for his sake I hope that is the case. But damn, what we are into 4 states now?

The more absurd the claims the harder it gets for me to believe. We'll see how the trial goes

First off, I'm not defending Sharper as you suggest in your next post. The dude has like rape allegations in the teens; obviously he is a POS. I was merely pointing out that I wouldn't be surprised if over half are not completely true. Doesn't really matter if one is however.

quote:

Don't compare rape and murder and say rape is no big deal because the victim is still alive.

Second I'm was responding to a post that I thought said rape was worse than murder which I don't agree with. On a second closer look I see he said "does not come close to murder?" which I missed so I understand why I'm getting accused of saying rape is "no big deal" but cmon; if you had to push a button that said raped or a button that said murder; what would you push. It'd be some horrible, twisted, saw type shite but I'm sure many many more would choose rape.

ETA:
On second thought, forget that question, I don't want to get too deep in this argument. Kind of pointless. It's like arguing whether a 100lb pile or 150 lb pile of shite smells worse.
