A. Failing school ranking

B. Fear of physical harm to your children

Is there any other beef?

It's comprised of what amounts to a sorority of black women that are graduates of Southern University.

That alone isn't bad.

What is bad is that if you aren't "in" you are out.
They protect their own, even if that means a horrible teacher/administrator.

Anyone willing to talk candidly from within the system will tell you this.

I was going to ask if this was an issue on race, but I am afraid I know the answer already.

I have a biracial son who I am strongly considering moving into the parish because of the schools.

No diversity. See, I can play that card, too! But really, I wanted to send my children to the local Catholic school. I considered sending my daughter to Woodlawn after she finised MBS, but post-Katrina Woodlawn High was not a nice place, so she, and my son, went to St. Michael.

It was kept hush hush, which is what concerned a lot of students and parents. The details are pretty disgusting. And this happened on campus. We're not talking about some "did she consent" type deal, we're talking drug into the stall by the book sack and forcibly raped. Then it being kept down low to avoid the fallout.

ETA: Pay attention to the date of the assault, and the date the article was written. That's when the public found out about it.
