Almost Human & Sleepy Hollow Discussion

I'm a fan of both, although I've fallen behind with Sleepy Hollow. Sleepy hollow is one of those that I just catch up with when I don't have anything else to watch and I don't really go out of my way to catch it when the newest one becomes available.

Almost Human though is great for me...it kind of fills that sci-fi kick I've been on and I just thoroughly enjoy the interaction between Kennex and Dorian. Becoming a big fan of the dude who plays Dorian, he looks really familiar to me, though I can't really place him (and I just looked it up...Barbershop!)

These should be separate threads. I'm up to date on Almost Human, but I haven't gotten to watch Sleepy Hollow.

The sci-fi series starring Karl Urban and Michael Ealy has averaged a 1.9 demo, and just over six million total viewers, numbers that are very, very close to what The Following has been putting up. Logically, if FOX sees The Following as worthy of a pick-up, they should feel the same about Almost Human. Of course, this is FOX, a network infamous for dropping the ax on one high concept sci/fi series after another.

At first glance, one might think a special effects-heavy show like Human would probably cost more to produce than a horror-tinged procedural like Following, but stars like Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy likely don’t come cheap. In the end, there is really no obvious reason why FOX would renew one show and not the other, outside of pure star power. That said, it’s definitely not a good sign that Almost Human ended its season on Monday, only for FOX to remain tight-lipped about its future.

If this show ends without telling me whats on the other side of the wall, I will be more pissed than when Sarah Conner chronicles ended after mentioning the T-1000s were on the humans side.

I'm almost wondering if Almost Human will be the last time Bad Robot has a show on FOX, the Bad Robot formula just doesn't seem to work for FOX, I don't know why, it just doesn't.

She's actually an incredible actress.. but I think they stuck her in this really awkward role that she can't figure out.. or maybe they can't figure out. dunno

ETA: I really wish JJ Abrams would stick to ABC and CBS for more procedural dramas, and would move over to Cable for Serialized programming.. but that's just me.

I really enjoy Almost Human. That's saying a lot as a show with the one and done episode story format usually doesn't keep my attention for long.

Kennex and Dorian have great chemistry. I actually lol'd when Dorian started tearing up at the end of the last one and in response to Kennex's disgust, said something like "I'm programmed to have emotion. Deal with it."

Not to be a dick..but I am guessing you are just judging this based on Nikita? It seems to be the only thing she has done.

I watch Almost Human, but gave up on Sleepy Hollow.

yes, big fan of Nikita, and her character in Nikita as well, not once did I think of her as an actress playing a part, she was the character in Nikita.

I have been watching Almost Human. My problem is the constant background music, which is almost as loud as the dialogue.

I probably should not have mentioned this as now everyone will start paying attention to the noise behind the conversations.
