Bought a fixer upper and really just needs cosmetic work (Scrape popcorn ceilings, Floors, paint, trim, hardware, fixtures, etc.) that I plan to do pretty much all myself except for Kitchen counters.
My question is where are the best places price wise to get the materials.
For Flooring I was told Lumber Liquidators.
Other than Home Depot, I'm not too keen or where to get the materials around BR for best prices. Any advice?

I'd get my paint from Sherwin Williams, but that's just me.

Have fun with those popcorn ceilings.

I think if you buy enough materials from Home Depot or Lowes they will give you a contractors discount...it's worth asking.

We got one on tile for our first house in BR.

I don't really get why these were ever popular, but I also don't get why people are so hell-bent to scrape them off. How often do you look at the ceiling?

Seriously? Do you have zero peripheral vision?

Easy, but long/dirty process. Done it multiple times.

It's a dated feature mostly. Same reason why I'm replacing the old ugly ceiling fans too even though they work fine.
If you want to increase the value, well then, It must be modern. Popcorn isn't modern..

Don't know about you, but my eyes are oriented left/right, not up/down. Seriously!

i have the popcorn ceilings in my house to. never bothered me enough to make the mess to scrape it all off. Plus the peak of my living room ceiling is around 20ft, so theres now way im getting up there just to scrape texture.

Couldn't think of a better way to say it, but if you don't notice ceilings, the issue is with you, not everyone else.

I believe the popcorn was to hide warped and poorly mudded/hung ceiling drywall. When you scrape said popcorn off, you will often find warped and poorly mudded/hung ceiling drywall. Once you start, you can't stop.
