You need to support the locals. Pick two abitas, a nola, lazy magnolia, tin roof, parish, and LA 31.
Then you will need to have several of the macro big names so you will be able to keep your general customer base happy.

Founders is coming to Louisiana. Get their Centennial IPA or All Day IPA on tap.

Have a good local selection from Parish, Nola, Tin Roof.

Then have BMC offerings to appease the masses.

Just stay local... get Tin Roof, Parish, NOLA, Bayou Teche, Abita, and then some of the newer ones when they come available.

If you branch out past that, try Sierra Nevada, Sweetwater, Terrapin, Saint Arnold, and Lazy Magnolia.

We will have 26-30 taps, depending on how it all lays out, goal is 30, and we will have a private keg table in banquet room with two taps on it also

In that case

all the locals everyone has mentioned
BMC
Out of state faves like Sierra Nevada, Founders, Terrapin

Reserve 5 taps to rotate monthly.

Just a heads up, my buddy owns a bar and grill...there is a big difference between the best beers on tap....and the best beers to make a profit on.

Small towns will drink staggering amounts of bud light and miller light...youll struggle to get through kegs of the craft stuff.

A sad fact.

If it's going to be soon...

Get the Abita strawberry on tap.

People seem to like Fat Tire... though its a bit bland to me.

Killian's is cheap...and sells fairly well.

Andygator has a good bite.

Nothing wrong with a sam adam's lager.

Woodchuck for the ladies.

Good taps with good turnover.

I'm regulated to 5 taps so I do all local. In my experience people who drink Bud Light or Miller lite will drink it in a bottle if that's their preference. Southern Pecan and AndyGator are my staples at this point. I rotate out the others with Alabama breweries.

Def. have a few locals: Parish, Abita, LA 31. Don't waste your taps on any of the 5 big boys: Miller, Coors, Bud, Bud Light, Michelob Ultra. Bottles are the way to go for those.

You can get pretty "crafty" with 26-30 taps. Should have room for Nola seasonals, Abita selects, Sierra Nevada, stone, goose island, etc.

I'll echo others and advise you to emphasize local craft beers. People around here (especially outlying areas) aren't very sophisticated when it comes to craft beer, but do seem to be willing to support something local.

The profit margin on those big boys might change the ops mind.

And bars want money.

Use the hicks to support the craft selection.
