I love the idea of having a lifetime aluminum hull boat but I had a friend with one that changed out two lower units on his motor and he blamed the boat.

Anyone with one?

Have a xpress hb20 bay boat and love it. Has the hyperlift v hull and is an all around great blah for fishing especially in the marsh or coast

If you are going in for the long haul, contact Hanko's and specifiy what you want. Fished with a friend in one; the boat is a tank.

I don't own a boat but I couldn't see buying a fiberglass boat. I would be too scared to hit something in the water or hit bottom or an oyster bed and ruin the boat or sink it. When I buy a boat it will be aluminum and I will build it so I don't have to worry about messing it up.

IMO other than being loud, it's hard to beat a really well built one, a Gravois/American Angler, Gaudet, Hanko they are all very nice.

Have fished out of a Gravois and a Gaudet a bunch tough to beat them IMO. Just loud!

You guys ever heard someone say the motors don't last as long since they are heavier? Doesn't make sense to me. I see all those work boats working every day and I know they are not changing motors regularly.

The Gaudet that I fish out of a LOT has very high hours on it with not issues.

If I could pick any boat I wanted it would be a American Aluminum Marine 26' with twin 250's.

That boat has been on the market for WELL over a year. If you go look at it, you should be able to get a good deal. Have been looking for the right used boat for quite some time, haven't found it yet, at least for sale....

just concerned about it being a 22. When I talked to Gaudet about a new boat a while back they really were stirring more toward a 24. But that jack plate is set back pretty far from the transom. Looks to me it ought to ride about the same as a longer boat.
