I have no idea, but I drove to the Northshore to pick up furniture on a Sunday and that was enough information for me to determine I'd never want to do that daily.

I live in Lakeview, and when I go into my office downtown it takes 20 minutes in traffic the whole time. When i drive to my client in Mandeville, it takes 30 minutes with never sitting in traffic. I prefer the Mandeville drive

You are going against the majority of traffic. The OP is going from the NS to SS and back.

The commute ideally isn't that bad but fog season, other weather conditions, a breakdown, or accident tends to mess things up pretty often. After that you're stuck sitting in traffic or going through Hammond or Slidell.

I drive it everyday, morning is not bad at all, the afternoon drive can get a little frustrating. Small price to pay to live in a civilized community.

Right now I live in Midcity. 10 minutes tops to work downtown for my fiancee. I hope we never have to give that up, but the Causeway is out as an option. frick that fog.

You mean with all the rapists, weirdos and other sexual deviants on the Northshore?

if you sit in traffic from lakeview to downtown, you are doing it wrong

and this is straight up bullshite. it would take you 15 minutes to get to the bridge alone, then no less than 20 to get across

I have a coworker that's always bitches about driving the bridge. Been a rough year so far with ice and fog.

Depends on where in Lakeview. Jump on the interstate at Canal, don't catch the West Esplanade light, and it could take 5-10 minutes. And if he's going to just the other side of the bridge, its feasible.

To the OP, I do it every day, but I'm on it at 5:20AM and 4:15PM. Those times are really smooth for the most part. The fog convoys and other delays are a small percentage of the time.

so on his absolute perfect scenario, he can MAYBE get to Mandeville in 30 minutes, IF he lives within 1 minute of the interstate, and is going within 1 minute of the bridge in Mandeville. not really a situation where I think he can say that when he goes to Mandville it takes 30 minutes.

on the same token, if he lives one minute from the interstate, he should be able to get downtown via Bienville or Orleans in 10 minutes without ever sitting in traffic

I drive all over for my job, not just the southshore. However, I'd say I make the northshore to southshore trip 1-2 times per week and it isn't bad at all. Granted, I drive 3200+ miles per month so a measly 45min commute to the south shore is nothing.

A friend of mine lives in Covington. He figures an hour commute every morning to get to his office in the CBD. He's an attorney and his main clients are in NYC, so when he leaves his house at 8, its 9 in NYC. He gets on his cell as he's pulling out his driveway and calls the people he needs to speak to that day and he has a billable hour every morning while he is commuting. He likes it for that reason.
