I think it's mostly because the "bad guy" was just so over the top. Started out being kind of machivillian. But ended up just stupid crazy.

The movie that provided what is hands down the best taunt by a henchman in cinema history.

"I used to frick guys like you in prison"

Yeah. Definitely watchable for all the cheese.

Still pisses me off that they killed Sam Elliot though. Sam Elliot should never be killed like that in any movie.

I don't think cheesy is necessarily a bad thing. This film basks in it and takes it to a new level.

Ben Gazzara's Brad Wesley was hysterical. Beating up his own guys, running cars off of the road, taking great joy in bullying the townsfolk of Jasper, MO... He was a lunatic!

One of my favorite characters is Denise, the platinum blonde with the big hair. She's hot for Dalton, but belongs to either Brad Wesley or Jimmy (Wesley's main henchman), I'm not sure which. She only has about five lines of dialogue in the whole movie, but is in about half the scenes - tight dress? Check. Big hair? Check. ACTION!!!

I love this movie!

O'Connor you know why you make me sick? Why boss? You're a bleeder. Got no tolerance for pain.
