Hey... I hope the Freak's "measurables" being below expectations don't downgrade him too much in draft... HOWEVER... It does mean to me that there's not as much to replace. If he had thrown the bench press 40x and ran a 4.8, I'd think he was going to be much harder to replace. I think we're going to be beasts off the edge on DL next year and we just need some big run stoppers up the middle...

That makes zero sense.

The hole that Freak left by leaving is exactly the same.

Wut? So if Mett goes later than the 3rd round, we're in good shape with Jennings or Harris. Makes sense...

LoCoture and Thomas will be as good next year and eventually better than last years starting combo. Plus somebody out of Herron, Gilmore, Bain and Valintine will step up and possibly beat out Thomas. Remember, Locoture was a true freshman last season, and looked pretty good. I bet he really steps up this season. I don't think we take a step back at DT next season

Jamarcus was drafted #1, that's why our team was so bad the next year.

Matt Flynn was drafted low, that's why our QB position was so good the next year.

Is that the logic that you're using?

No he's saying what he did shouldn't be as hard to replace. If he was getting stuffed and he's was faster and stronger then there would be more cause for alarm.

He's talking VORP here, I'm sure.

And I agree with him, but not because of his draft status.

I think it was obvious throughout his career that the coaches felt the expectations far exceeded his abilities.

I got what he was trying to say. He may not have said it the best way, but I think the point was made, and I agree. Perhaps he was all hype. I never saw enough out of him to where I thought he was what everyone was making him out to be. Never really knew if it was him or whomever was next to him though.

If Freak wasn't that good, that just tells me that LSU's depth sucks.

imo it all starts with the d ends , I think freak has a better year if mingo and Montgomery were still one the team ....

but as the year went on rasco and hunter got better and so did our d tackles....

I come here every now and then, and by no means read every thread. But from what I have read, this is OFFICIALLY the dumbest post I have ever seen on TD. Wow.
