Was playing around in the garage this afternoon while the kids were playing and worked on a new slate call.

The slate is cut out of a piece of slate tile and the wood is a piece of white oak.

That striker is made from some unknown wood so about to try it out with a cedar striker.

With the stricken in the pic it has a little higher pitch.

Just tried out the cedar striker and it made a world of difference.

Sounds awesome. The purr will make a gobbler walk funny.

I can purr good with diagram, but a good slate makes a hard to beat purr.

I'd take $40 for them as well. By the time you can find a brick and have them shipped it would work out to about the same.

I'll gladly pay you for one. If you ever find yourself making one for the heck of it, please keep me in mind.

I can do that. They don't take all that long to make one. I'll bump this and let you know when I get some done.
