Looking for lodging recommendations for a trip to Yosemite. Any help would be appreciated.

I think camping is ruled out since we are traveling with a 15-month old

Thanks for any help!

There's cabins within the park, but you need to reserve them early. Beautiful place. Hiking is a must. I fly fished the river that runs the valley (forget the name). Would do it again, but it gets crowded during the summer.

At first I was jelly, until I saw the part about the 15 month old tagalong.

I've got a 12 month old and there's no way I could go to Yosemite and enjoy myself with all of that going on. Prayers sent man.

Please report back with pics.

Yeah, unless he has someone going to help with the baby, it will be a hard trip. No way I would go with my 13 month old. He should just keep going west to San Fran and chill for a long weekend.

Book ASAP. I wouldn't be surprised if everything is full already. Lodging and campgrounds are extremely popular, some fill completely on the day that reservations open. If possible get a lodge in the valley, some of the most awe inspiring scenery in the country. As a consequence be prepared for huge crowds and traffic jams and long walks from parking spots. Anything you want to do, do it as early in the day as humanly possible which gets tricky with a 15 month old.

We camped last summer at the Crane Flat campground which was great but a ways out of the valley and the best we could do. I really don't know anything about the lodges other than there are a handful in the park.

We're doing a trip soon as well, but we're staying on he east side near mammoth lakes. We're only going one day down to the ditch, but we'll be in the area a few days. Plan to explore the whole east side all the way up to Lake Tahoe. I can't wait.

I bought this map. Check it out. You can zoom in with the bottom right button.

Tahoe is amazing. We ate at a brewery in South Lake Tahoe. I think the name was Badass Brewery. We chilled outside, drank beer and ate pizza. Weather was perfect. Cali is an awesome place.

Nice, post a report after your trip! I'm sure we will stick to the ultra-popular, over-crowded attraction and sights since they will be the easiest to access. I am bringing my backpack that has the toddler seat so day hikes aren't out of the question.
We will only be there a few days but I've wanted to go there for years.

It's crowded. My god I couldn't believe the vehicles and people in that place. You really need to hike a bit to have any idea of wilderness there.

Fodors is a good travel site, they have some decent info on lodging

We stayed in the Curry Village tent/cabin accommodations. Crowded? Yes. It was the end of the summer so most water falls were dry. We did some hiking but my sister and her hubby had some medical problems that limited the kind of hikes my wife and I would have taken. Probably the same limitations you will have with the baby. Stay in the park if possible. Everything is probably booked except for Curry Village by now.

Wife and I stayed at the Wawona lodge last year. It was a very nice rustic old lodge. We also stayed at the Yosemite view lodge in the valley, just outside the gates. That would probably work better for your family. There are some high priced options in the valley, but they were booked months, if not years in advance.
