May be common knowledge? Believe Martini mentioned this months ago, but apparently now confirmed.

Going next to Alexander's on Old Perkins. Acadian location will be closing from what I hear.

That seems absurd. I guess it's opposite decade. Gals to central BR and Jubans to St George.

Wow.

Juban's, Ruffinos, Le Creole, Little Village, French Market Bistro....nice little group within 5 minutes of each other.

Found this snippy review on Trip Advisor
quote:

we were sort of skeptical when we walked up to a storefront in a strip mall that uses it's parking lot for Mardi Gras and St. Patty's day after-parties... Police even sit in their cars in the lot to deter theft from vehicles. This place is in desperate need of a face-lift, or new location.
Whatever. Maybe the Hatfields ^h^h^h Claitor family finally offered the McCoys ^h^h^h Juban family the right buyout $$$. Maybe the famous Wall_of_Southdowns can finally come down. Maybe CC's Coffee can move over there and I can finally get a dang parking spot in the morning.

Sweet. Lots of good restaurants and seemingly people and businesses coming out to my neck of the woods. Haven't been to jubans since 2004, guess this makes the decision easier

Will, I heard it's a second location but don't know the full story. I eat there every week for a networking group. I'll ask next Wednesday.

I've heard it's a second satellite location. Smaller and more of a bistro type atmosphere versus the fine dining look at the other. They seem to be doing just find off of Acadian and Perkins and the jubans actually own the building they are in there. TIFWIW

Same as I heard. Not that it was a bistro but a second location which I think would do well. And they do very well where they are and are head and shoulders above that New Orleans chain down the street.

I am still skeptical of the information I received. I can't see them closing their Acadian location. Business just seems too damn good to walk away from here.

A 2nd location makes sense and will do well off Old Perkins.

Great! Closer to me. My favorite restaurant in the BR area.

There is a visceral hate fest between the two families, I live near and know some (not all) of the Claitors. The chief occupation is greed.

They just finished remodeling not too long ago. Cant see them closing.

That said, I've had one great experience and one very bad there(completely based on the waiter).

Yep, heard this several months ago.

Smaller bistro type is correct.

Bistro Byronz wanted to build before train tracks on Highland, but now they are building on Perkins.

I'm sure these restaurants are seeing the amount that Ruffino's brings in every night and want a piece.
