BTW,

I am just south of the half-way line and far to the right, which is almost EXACTLY where Milton Freedman fell.

I don't really agree with either of those to be perfectly honest, but the second one is definitely better. The first one is just not really correct.

I would attribute it to stupidity. The whole line is ignorance on display.

It doesn't make sense

Same with the idea that if you go further to the right (more conservative), you want bigger government. It is a very silly scale to say the least.

The first diagram is a mess. Nazism and fascism do not belong on the right while Anarchy does. American conservatism extrapolates to unregulated social Darwinism if taken to the extreme.

Communism is the state of utopian society where there is no government, but everybody does his or her part to make it work, which is impossible because it forgets that the true nature of humans include laziness, greed, gluttony, vanity, etc.

And the extreme left extrapolates to mob-rule tyranny. They are both flawed. The best way to handle society is by harnessing human nature to the benefit of all, rather than trying to suppress it. Harness greed to get more work out of the greedy. Harness vanity to get more production out of the vain, etc.

Limited government is neither Republican nor Democrat, but Libertarianism. Both American parties offer a poison pill of choosing which brand of Authoritarianism we wish to swallow.

I would love to see some alternative political charts/diagrams that are better than the 4 quadrant one I posted.

The first chart has some extra things in that just mess it up. Anarchy doesn't really belong in the chart. You could even argue Anarchy is absolute freedom.

Nazism doesn't belong on the chart either. It has a lot of what we would deem as far right ideologies ,but had left wing elements as well. Nazism rejects core principle of both left and right wing ideologies and goes off the deep end.

Repub/Dem is not a political ideology.

it is so clearly the later and not the former.

note: most anarchs are right rather than left. Also Liberal conservative left and right are all relative terms. A liberal from the mid 20th century would be very right wing today.

Also the top one is to reductionistic there are multiple views in each belief set.

the original anarchists were born from the communist movement, i.e. destroy the gov't and the people work together in a community. Everything is shared, etc.

It doesn't jive with the liberterian view of anarchy but is valid, but the most famous anarchists in the US (Sacco and Vanzetti) were of this ilk. So was emma goldman.
