I have a three year old American Bulldog that has become alarmingly aggressive to strange dogs.

She is sweet to my other two dogs and to all people.

But she almost just killed a dog a little while ago.

I was taking her running on a leash, a neighbrs dog got loose without a leash. I normally can keep her away from loose dogs but this dog made a beeline right at her face.

As soon as the dog (which was a chihuahua) was inside her personal space she snapped at her and had the whole dog in her mouth pretty much. I had to put her in a headlock and open her jaws to get the little dog free.

She never used to be like this until about a year ago when my next door neighbor got a dog that would bark at her through the fence. She has developed a severe desire to wtfpwn any dog outside of our yard.

I used to bring her to dog park and she was fine.

Should I just put a muzzle on her when she runs?

I have to take her running...she has to have the exercise.

Treadmill is probably your best bet.

The neighbor apologized to me.

Her dogs got loose and ran across the road to come to my dog.

I was the one that was wtfpwned the most btw.

I tore up my knees when I was breaking them up and my hand got bit or some shite.

Also the little dog literally shite all over me while I was breakign them up.

The muzzle would solve your problem quickly regarding your dog being able to not do damage to other animals, but does nothing to solve your issue. The fact the dog will not listen to you telling it no or to leave the other animals alone, it sounds like it's an obedience issue. You can try a pinch collar, choke chain (you may have both of these already) or an e collar. E collar's, when used correctly, are powerful tools in changing a dog's behavior. Youtube has some good video's and sit means sit makes a great collar (about $250 to your door w/a lifetime warranty). Good luck !

She is deaf which makes it a little harder to get her attention in these situations.

Get a pinch collar.

Recognize the aggressive disposition before it becomes aggressive action.

Use pinch collar to correct behavior.

Repeat as needed.

Good luck.

Pinch collar, not a choke collar. Choke collars are ineffective.

Electricity.

Shock collars are the best thing ever.

Like I said, I normally handle her well when anther dog becomes present.

This dog came directly at her and had no time to react.

You said she has been showing increasingly aggressive behavior. If that's true, then you need to follow what I told you.

The situation with the small dog is tough, but proper correction with the pinch collar could have prevented it.

You have to assert yourself with your dog. You act first.

It doesn't sound like your dog needs a muzzle or anything. I know it's tough when people hardly ever follow leash laws.

I think socialization is past the point of no return at this point. Muzzle is the best you can do. The dog can learn, but obviously it appears that you are threatened by small dogs, whatever small vibes you are giving off. Not even a joke. Dogs pick up on this stuff much quicker than humans.

Question: How fast can you "run" with an American Bulldog?

She was protecting you. You did nothing wrong. Obey leash law and someone else didn't.
