I'm so petty that I'm not buying the game 'till the gold edition comes out, day one dlc rustled my jimmies in the extreme.
For the record I have over 140 hours on rome 1 on steam, plus my pre steam days.

Rome 2 is on patch 9 if that gives you and input into how launch went. It's gotten a lot better though. Not bad bad deal.

I've heard they've been sitting on a linux compiled version to be fully refined and released for the steam boxes. Supposedly that is the real reason they had to hire so many extra developers.
That said, Frick day one dlc.

Good. It's a pretty competitive multiplayer RTS. I haven't messed with the story and probably have close to 400 hours since I bought it at launch.

Since I got my computer set up I've been playing it like crazy. Bought the new assassins creed but want a good RTS.
Steam is awesome. Way too many choices. Downloaded my first indie game the other day.
