My ole man had a litter of his Jack Russell Squirrel Dogs this past December... Said he paid $30 each x 4 shots per pup before their 8 week date.

Our lab just had 10 pups and 9 survived.... Had not planned on selling them, as alot of folks we are friends with, want her offspring.

I dont really wanna eat a grand bein a nice guy. Will probably ask for shots $ when we give them out. Is that wrong?

Are anyones Vets more reasonable than $30/shot/pup if we have 9?

Go to a feed store and buy the shots if the vet won't cut you a deal. Should be able to get somewhere in the $10/shot range. They are extremely easy to administer.

It is completely understandable to ask for money to cover shots/care during the first 6-8 wks of their life (or however long you hold onto them before you start giving them away). $70-$150 is reasonable in my book. You won't make hardly any money, really just enough to not lose your arse on the deal.

I don't think asking to cover vet costs is out of line. What about registration?

My old vet charged $25 for each before my lab died about 2 years ago. In Moss Bluff, I'll have to find contact info when I get home, but if I were you, i'd go with the 1st one posted.

By the way, how much are you looking to sell them for?

Jesus Christ you tight arse, you running a puppy mill? Get the vet to do the work and charge the buyers accordingly. Sure you can get the shots at a feed store, online or in a catalog, but why would you? Get some quotes from different vets and go with the cheapest. I'd rather get the vaccs done properly than run the risk of having an issue down the line.

If the buyer wants to immunize his own dog, so be it.

Anyone who's getting a getting a pup and objects to paying for their shots doesn't deserve said pup. Tell em to frick off.
