Google Play Music, Amazon Cloud Player or whatever the Itunes one is called. Or are there any other option?
We are primarily an iPhone family, but hate iTunes.
Prefer not to have to pay for any service.

Spotify is the best (10 bucks/month)
Google music is pretty damn good too, but is better for android phones and I only use it because initially it as 8 bucks a month (now if you sign on its 10)

There are others. Ubuntu One music is one. You just store your own stuff there, though. There's no attached store unless it's new.

Start off with Pandora. It's free and has lots of stations (i.e. genres) to choose from. The downside is that you cannot queue up specific songs/albums like some of the paid-for services.

anyone know if Spotify is better than Rhapsody? If so, how is it better?

Never tried Rhapsody but Spotify is well worth the $$$.
Easy to use & so far has every song I ever thought to search for.

It will play music you have uploaded and music you have purchased at the Play Music store.

If you pay $10/month you can play any song in their library.

And you can upload a whole bunch of songs you might already have or come across.

I have uploaded a few legally questionable songs to Google Music, but I am always wary of it because I know it's easy to watermark audio. The labels could (and probably have) seeded torrent sites with watermarked mp3's, and at any time they could pressure Google into handing over a list of infringers.

There's this app called Musi (iOS). It's free. I think what it does is it enable you to search for you music on Youtube, place you selection in a playlist.
Thus you can create your own playlists of songs you want.
Pretty nice if you just want to listen to particular songs and don't want to skip a bunch of music like Pandora...

I actually switched from Rhapsody to Spotify and I'm so glad I did. I've found that they have a much wider selection of music and the audio quality was much better as well. However, the increased quality means more data and less battery life if you're not on WiFi but you can download your music to your phone with the premium package ($10). Rhapsody's interface is complete crap. It was almost painful just to get to my playlists. Spotify's is much cleaner and easier to navigate. I also like the feature that allows you to "follow" your friends AND you can use their "radio" feature based on your playlists that you build.
Just a few to begin with.

I'm leaning toward Spotify now. Is it safe to say that they have the largest library?

Rhapsody recently updated the interface of their app...not sure if you were referring to app interface or desktop.

Slacker premium is the shite. I wish my roommate would pay his bill so I could use it again.
