Anyone here use them? What are your thoughts on the quality of it?
Midway has a good sale going on right now and I'm thinking about pulling the trigger.

The only reticle they are offering for the scope I'm interested in is a mil dot. I haven't owned one of those before. What are the pro and cons. Tia

Used a 3-9x40 Buckmaster on my Tikka T3 in .300wsm for about two years. I liked it but then upgraded to a Monarch 3. I still plan on using the Buckmaster on my .35 Whelen because it performed very well.

I have a Buckmaster on my 270WSM. It is not a mil-dot. I really like the scope.

I have a 3-9x40 on a .270 and a 4.5-14x40 on 7 mag and really like both of them.

I have a 3-9x40 on a Winchester 70 .270 and love it. I don't see myself using anything else any time in the foreseeable future.

I have one on my .280, it does fine, just don't look thru a good scope right next to it. You will hate it after that moment.

Scope

I plan on putting it on my 7 mag. The lease I am trying to join has fields and 400yd shots are common. I plan on making an elk trip to Colorado in the future too.

I've got a 3x9x40 Buckmaster on my 45-70. No complaints for using it there. If I were to shoot 400 yds with a Nikon, I'd spring for the Monarch however.

Monarch is the way to go. I have about 7 or nikons and monarchs have an $80 off sale for certain ones currently.

I have a 4.5-14 x 40 that I don't like because it has the stovepipe effect. I took it off my 7mm Rem Mag and put it on my 444 since I only use it once or twice a year .

They had some good deals on the monarchs but are now out of stock. Is there any difference between the buckmaster and prostaff?

Where do you live?

Do yourself a favor and talk to Jay and Chris at sportoptics/interstate guns in Hammond. Bring them the midway price and Ill bet they match it, plus you get to see all the cool crap they have in the store.

I'm about an hour from Hammond. I think a guy I work with just bought a nightforce from them. I'll check it out.

Nikon Monarch 3

Do not pass up this deal. I spent $460 on mine and this is the best it has been ever. Seriously...GET IT.

Buckmaster is a step above Prostaff, Monarch is their top line but I hear there is not much difference from Buckmaster unless you are shooting really long range. I have the Buckmaster 3x9x40 on my AR-10 and like it fine.

Got one. No complaints. It handles any recoil you could throw at it. Clear.
